PA 211 Creates Education Resource for Parents

PA 211 has created an education resource for Parents and Guardians looking for assistance during the pandemic to help their children in their school work.

PA Updates COVID-19 Vaccination Plan, Launches Vaccine Eligibility Tool

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today released the latest revised COVID-19 vaccination plan that includes people who are 65 and older, and those 16-64 with certain underlying medical conditions that make them more vulnerable to the disease.

Additionally, a new tool has been developed to help Pennsylvanians determine their eligibility, find a provider, and schedule an appointment.

Pennsylvania is dedicating COVID-19 stimulus funding to support K-12 schools

Governor Tom Wolf is dedicating $2.2 billion in federal stimulus funds to K-12 school districts and charter schools affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to support food programs, technological improvements and other education services.

National Institutes of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Tip Sheet

The National Institutes of Health has issued a COVID-19 vaccine tip sheet with do's and don'ts about messaging.

President Biden Signs National Mask Mandate Executive Order

The new order requires wearing face masks in all federal buildings and on federal property (to include National Parks), as well as during interstate travel on trains, buses, and planes. The order also includes a "100-day masking challenge" that asks Americans to commit to wearing a mask for at least 100 days.

CDC Foundation Hoses "Moving the Needle on COVID-19 Vaccination" Webinar

The "Moving the Needle on COVID-19 Vaccination" webinar will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2021 from 12 - 1 pm ET.  

At this event, CDC COVID-19 Response Vaccine Task Force Chief Medical Officer Amanda Cohn, MD, will present the latest information about available vaccines and current vaccine distribution plans, in conversation with CDC Foundation President and CEO Judy Monroe, MD.  Afterwards, leaders from community-based organizations will join the conversation to discuss ways to overcome barriers to a successful COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program Payments Resuming

PA Department of Labor & Industry has announced that payments for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program in the new federal CARES Act extension are resuming.  PUA assists workers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and are not typically eligible for other unemployment compensation programs. This includes gig workers, freelancers, and self-employed workers.
